Attended mixdown is an innovative service that brings you into the heart of the mixing process. Through a live, remote connection, you'll witness and participate in the mixdown of your music. This service bridges the gap between professional mixing and personal learning, offering a unique, hands-on experience.

The process of mixing involves mindfully adjust levels, EQ, effects, and stereo positioning to convey the creative essence of your track in the best way possible.

All element require precise treatment individually and fitting the context of the full track to create a clear, powerful and pleasant listening experience.

What to expect?

Expect a comprehensive, real-time collaboration experience. You'll see every adjustment, discuss changes, and gain insights into professional techniques that make your music shine. It's a blend of mastering your track to perfection and mastering the skills behind the mix, all from wherever you are in the world.

Alongside technical best practices, I also apply my own Philosophy of Mixing.

As we go through the mixing process of your music, I'll answer any questions you have along the way and explain the techniques and reasoning behind them so you can apply them yourself in your future productions.

Gain staging: Optimize each track's volume levels before mixing to ensure clarity and balance, setting a solid foundation for the mix.

EQing (Equalization): Carefully adjust frequencies to eliminate clashes between instruments, enhance clarity, and achieve a harmonious blend.

Compression: Apply dynamic range control to even out levels, add punch, and ensure each element sits perfectly in the mix.

Saturation: Introduce warmth, character, and depth to your tracks, mimicking the pleasant harmonics of analog gear.

Group processing: Tactically process groups of similar instruments together for cohesive sound and efficient workflow, enhancing the overall mix.

Mastering included

Once you're happy with the final mixdown, your track will be mastered until you're fully satisfied with the final result.

Format

The online session lasts one hour and can be booked in the evenings and weekends (UK time). The remaining of the full mixdown and mastering process is completed outside of the online session.

How to send your project

Submit your project as audio stems:

1. Complete your track: Ensure the track is completed in arrangement, structure, and automation.

2. Name your channels: Include the word 'group' in the name of group channels and name each channel in your project clearly (e.g., 'main synth' or 'hats group').

3. Export settings: Use the "All Individual Tracks" export option in Ableton (or the equivelent of your DAW), select 'Include Return and Master ffects' and export as WAV files and no dither.

4. Check and send the files: Please double check the folder you're sending has the correct files in it to prevent potential delays. Then send the exported files directly through my WeTransfer portal using your contact email:
